Why I’m running
My neighbors, our city, our ward has been in the news lately and seeing what’s happening. It breaks my heart.
In late 2001, I saw a rally addressed by late Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone, who said “politics that is not sensitive to the concerns and circumstances of people’s lives, politics that do not speak to and includes its people, is an intellectually arrogant politics that deserves to fail.”
Paul Wellstone inspired me to get involved in community work, and for the last 15 plus years, I have been fully invested in community services and as a mediator.
I don’t believe in the politics of leaving people behind. We do need new leadership in the city hall, and with your support, we can bring Minneapolis back to a safer and business-friendly community.
It’s our collective responsibility and ownership to move Minneapolis forward from the current failed solutions to a better Minneapolis.
I do look forward to representing you all.
Sincerely,
Yussuf Haji
